Q: Do I have to believe in God for spiritual counseling to be helpful?
A: No. As an interfaith minister I serve believers from all faith traditions: Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Earth based traditions, Christianity, Paganism and Sufism. And as a counselor and hospital chaplain I have worked with many individuals who are Agnostic, Atheist or practice a blend of traditions.
Spirituality is not limited to those who choose to follow an established tradition. Many people find deep meaning for their lives through science and nature. It is my sincere desire to meet you on your path, wherever you are, and speak your spiritual language.
Q: What if I don’t even know what I believe?
A: This can actually be a very rich place in life. Sometimes being uncertain means that there is less to “un-do” in the process of self-discovery. Exploration with open-ended possibilities can lead to incredible personal growth.
Q: Are you going to try to convert me to your belief system?
A: Absolutely not! The purpose of spiritual counseling is to help you discern your path in life, to make choices that are in alignment with your highest good – based on your beliefs.
If you are questioning your spiritual beliefs, you can explore the vast possibilities that exist, and choose what feels comfortable and supportive for you.
Q: What does a healing session look like?
A: A healing session typically begins with a brief guided meditation and an opportunity for you to share information about why you are seeking healing. This gives me an opportunity to “read” your energy as you share, looking for openings where adjustments in your energy field could be helpful.
Sometimes I may ask you to participate by sharing the physical feelings in your body. Other times I may ask that you just relax and let the healing energy seek its own path.
Q: Are counseling and energy healing effective if we work over the telephone?
A: Yes. Energy is not limited by time or space and clients often choose to enjoy sessions in the comfort of their home or office. But if visual contact feels important for you, Skype sessions are available.
Q: Does healing work instantly and permanently?
A: Most clients feel some relief instantly, whether it be emotional or physical. Occasionally this relief is permanent. More often though, healing is a process. Your body and emotions became troubled or dis-eased over a period of time, and restoring them to health also takes some time.
Fortunately, healing is a cumulative process, and continuity in your healing process produces exponential results.
